Kindergarten Quiz Isolating and Pronouncing Sounds in CVC Words – RF.K.2.D

The standard CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.2.D focuses on students’ abilities to isolate and pronounce the individual sounds, or phonemes, in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. This excludes words ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/. The ability to hear, identify, and manipulate the phonemes in words is a crucial step in learning to read.
